Si tratta di una particolare costruzione della spatola che consiste nella sovrapposizione asimmetrica di due strati superiori, uno in metallo e l'altro in fibra di vetro. L'obiettivo è quello di ridurre l'inerzia e il peso della spatola, ottenendo uno sci più vivace e disponibile.
